Eventmail announces today our new cellphone SMS messaging product. Due to the latest cellphone SPAM issues, this is a members only, opt-in service that takes advantage of the built-in Eventmail Event System password-protected member preferences to insure 100% SPAM compliancy.

List members are alerted to the new service via e-mail, linking to the member preferences screen where people can opt-in to receive SMS test messages announcing events right to their cellphone. The service can be used to send event announcements, event reminders, venue addresses, VIP or special event info, etc. SMS lists employ the same list segmentation as the mass e-mail system, so the sender can maintain the same seperation of their audience, such as VIP, press, rock, hip-hop, geographic, etc.

Last week we showed eventmail to an audience of event planners, producers, etc. at the BizBash EventStyle Show. Nandu, Dan, Phillipa and Cgee manned the eventmail booth at Pier 94 in NYC. Surprise guests, the Smithereens, showed up to play the gig, hors’d'ouvres were passed and conventiongoers helped themselves to the open bar. Despite the carnival like event atmosphere, many planners were intrigued with eventmail and loved the demo. We will be calling you!
